Flying into the dreams of others …

by | Jun 9, 2017

Being a wedding videographer is such a privilege.

I realise this today while I fly over the skies of the Jungfrau Region where I live, out of Switzerland, in to the dreams of others.

I’m on my way to work. On this occasion to a wedding at Palais Shohnburg in Vienna. But I am so lucky to say that my job is my passion. I get to film beautiful couples and work with amazing people all wanting the same – to make our clients’ day as memorable as we can.

It’s hard to imagine the time it’s taken for my clients to put their dream day together. All the careful planning, with or without the help of a professional.

Couples’ budgets range considerably and there’s been a lot of noise in the media recently about the ever-increasing cost of weddings and how couples should ‘reign it in’.

But who gets to tell couples where they should spend their money and what they spend it on?

In terms of a wedding, one couple might prioritise the venue, while another might think their flowers are the most important investment on their day.

But here’s a little food for thought.  However much you spend on the actual day isn’t one of the most important things is that you get to remember it … and I mean really remember it.

Of course you’ll hire a photographer. If you really value remembering your day you’ll assign a good budget to a professional who’ll make it their job to capture your day in the best way possible. Giving you beautiful images for your walls and a wonderful album for your coffee table.

But what if those images came to life? What if you could hear it and feel the day, be totally  ‘submersed in it’… and what if you could share that at the touch of a button whenever and wherever and with whoever with a beautiful film…

That’s where I come in.  It’s not only my job and my ethos to bring the best out of your day, it’s my passion.

I never take for granted how important that you are central to this story but also that what you want to have is a memory of a day you can share again and again with all your family and friends, guests and even those who couldn’t make it. Maybe especially those who couldn’t be there.

I don’t like flying. Yup. With 18 more flights to go this summer. I confess. I really don’t like flying. But my fear of flying is outweighed by my love of filming weddings.

So while I look out of my window flying over the skies of Switzerland I know that I should be counting myself very fortunate to have such an amazing life … flying into your dreams so that you can remember them for years to come.
